This sidewalk is approximately 1.5 miles long and will improve bicycle and pedestrian safety by providing a separate facility from the roadway and connecting citizens to the existing US 17 shared-use path. New crosswalks and pedestrian signals at the existing traffic signal on US 17 will be incorporated. The proposed design will remain within present right of way where possible, but new right of way is needed for drainage improvements.
