The Purpose of this meeting
-
Present the proposed design for Laurel Bay Pathway Project
-
Receive comments on the proposed design
Project Description
The project is being expedited and made possible by The Military Enhancement Plan Fund administered by the South Carolina Department of Veterans’ Affairs (SCDVA) as the County received a $3.39M grant in January 2023. Other project funds are through the 2018 One Cent Sales Tax Program.
The Laurel Bay Road Pathway project is a proposed 10’ shared-use path from US 21 (Trask Parkway) to the Laurel Bay Military Housing Complex. By replacing the existing asphalt path on the north side of Laurel Bay Road with the 10’ concrete path, it will increase and enhance pedestrian and bicyclist safety and improve connectivity for all users along the corridor.
Construction of the project is anticipated to begin in 3rd quarter 2023.
